A small Chippendale period mahogany bedside pot cupboard of the highest quality. Constructed in particularly well figured timber that has retained excellent patina and colour.
The shaped gallery provides a tray-top above a cupboard door which is raised on four well proportioned fluted legs with block toes and headed with 'c'-scroll corner brackets.
This desirable piece probably emanates from one of the leading cabinet makers of the day.

Provenance

Christopher Pringle Collection - We are delighted to be offering exclusively, this special collection which was put together over several decades by a true enthusiast. Christopher, a desendant of the family that started the famous knitware company, lived in Oxshott in Surrey and sadly died in December 2010. He lectured on Chippendale and Adam and organised tours for the Furniture History Society. The family have kindly asked us to handle the disposal of the entire collection, which we will be doing over the comming months.
