An original 19th century folding 'pole' ladder contructed in pine with oak treads. This unusual pattented design has been much copied and originals such as this are hard to come by. It stands 2.85 meters talls and folds up to form a pole just 2.5 inches diameter. This example retains its original makers pattent lable, which is an oval brass plaque that reads ""ONE POLE LADDER - DAVIS'S PATENT, Patent Applied For"".
