20th Century Bronze Group of Two Horses and a Dog after P.J. Mene

Circa 1960

Superb 20th Century quality bronze sculpture of two horses cautiously defending each other with a gilt figure of a dog barking at them.

Finely cast after the original by Pierre Jules Mene, (sculptor), 1810 - 1879, entitled 'L'accolade'.

This mid-20th Century casting has crisp detail and a rich dark brown patina. It stands on its original cast gilt plinth.
