A high quality mahogany Scottish longcase clock by William Young of Dundee, with 8 day movement and hourly strike. The arched painted dial with Roman numerals, a seconds dial and date dial. Painted in each corner with scenes of the Four Seasons and the arch with a scene from the play ""Lady of the Lake"

The case constructed with superb flame figured mahogany inlaid with rosewood panels in the hood and with carved pillars. The hood also with matching carved pillars and headed by a swan neck pediment with brass eagle-mounted ball finials.
(William Young worked in the High Street, Dundee until about 1845).
