Pair of 19th century giltwood Stools

A highly decorative pair of 19th century carved giltwood stools with upholstered seats covered in antique water-patterened pale green silk. The ornately carved aprons with trailing foliage either side of pierced cartouches and flanked by cabriole legs carved with grotesque satyr's heads which are joined by scroling 'X' shaped stretchers.
A very imposing pair of stools with fatastic presence. Perfect at the foot of a bed in a palacial bedroom or scattered in a grand drawing room.
