An exceptional and rare mid-18th century Cuban mahogany Irish ""castle-top"" card and tea table. The shaped top consisting of three flaps which fold open to create either a tea table or a baize-lined card table with candle-stands and counter wells. The shaped wavy-edge apron below set with a carved central shell, supported on four fully carved cabriole legs which are carved on all four sides with conforming conch shells flanked by scrolled acanthus, and with further carved ornament to the pad feet.
